Joseph Parker
I don't think Whyte advances him any closer to a title fight, but like you, I'd love to see it! Perfect opponent for JP. He comes to fight, and has great power. Just got ranked #15 in the WBC, I think. Well deserved.

To me, this would be a step up from any of Parker's opponents. Who says he has to fight a top ten guy? This fight would do wonders for him. And Whyte would take this fight in a heart beat, given Parker's ranking, and coming off a loss.

If they're focused on increasing profile in the UK, this would certainly do the trick...

Well there is no denying that Whyte has a chin. I'd pay to see this fight. If it happens...where would it fit in? It'll be risking a lot if it's before a chance to go for the IBF belt.

I agree, NakiFan, there's no reason to fight Whyte if you are going for a belt. He's dangerous. And only ranked #15 in the WBC. And is damaged goods after getting KO'd by AJ.

But from a learning perspective, and for entertainment value, it's a great fight. Me, if I were Parker, and have come this far to get ranked in all 4 alphabets, and had a title possibility looming, I'd take the safe option and pass on Whyte.

Agreed it is a big risk, Diehard.

A bit worrying too. Does this mean that Takam has turned them down?

I don't think Whyte will happen anytime soon. And my guess is that Stu is trying to get Takam signed to a contract. But we won't know until Duco announces, probably after Bergman.
