Heavyweight Explosion shaping up for Aug 12

IBF mandatory world title challenger Filip Hrgovic (15-0, 12 KOs) will clash with Australia’s undefeated contender Demsey McKean (22-0, 14 KO) on the undercard of the August 12 Joshua-Whyte rematch at The O2 in London and shown exclusively live on DAZN around the world and on DAZN PPV in the UK and Ireland.

In addition, unbeaten heavyweight Johnny “The Romford Bull” Fisher (9-0, 8 KOs) faces Harry Armstrong (5-1-1, 0 KOs) for a regional belt.

Filip Hrgovic: “The heavyweight champions cannot avoid me any longer and once I have defeated Demsey McKean on August 12, they will have no other option but to face me. I have waited patiently and bided my time but the game is up, ‘El Animal’ is coming for you and is ready to take the belts back to Croatia. McKean will be a tough and strong opponent, but he has never faced anyone as powerful and skillful as me. August 12, at The O2 in London, is the night the heavyweight division starts to change.”

Demsey McKean: “This is what it’s all about, the big fights. I’ve been grinding a big portion of my life for a fight like this. I’m one win away from fighting Usyk for four world titles. This is my world title fight.”

Yarde on Zhang-Joyce undercard

Light heavyweight banger Anthony Yarde (23-2, 22 KOs) hits the comeback trail towards his next world title challenge on September 23 with an all-British clash against Ricky Summers (19-3-1, 6 KOs) at the OVO Arena in London on the big Zhilei Zhang-Joe Joyce rematch card, live on TNT Sports (UK).

Yarde, the self-styled “Beast from the East,” won the admiration of the boxing public back in January when he gave unified world light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev a tough fight before being retired by his own corner in the eighth round in front of a packed house at the same venue.

Also featuring on the Wembley card, headlined by The Big Bang seeking to once again knock The Juggernaut off course, is WBC International Silver and Commonwealth lightweight champion Sam Noakes (11-0, 11 KOs) defending his titles, along with WBC International super lightweight champion Pierce O’Leary (12-0, 7 KOs) making a second defense of his belt.

Hmmm pick em fight Chisora may take it for his durability and constant go forward pressure. Washington looked OK back when but not sure of him apart from has been in camps with Wilder.
Could be a fun fight to watch 2 fighters surely ranked outside the top 20.
