RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 06-23-2015

Question: Who would be the tougher opponent for Parker: Leapai or Tupou?

RE: Joseph Parker - shamrock - 06-23-2015

I thought Tupou had his moments in the fight but Jennings was better man and basically on top throughout

RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 06-23-2015

Having been KO'd by Jennings and King, and stopped by Scott, you've gotta wonder about Tupou's chin.

Tupou vs Jennings was a cracker of a fight. I just watched it. If he comes in that sort of shape and pressures Joseph it'll be a great fight.

He dislocated his elbow against Scott, so that's a rough TKO. Don't watch that fight if you're thinking of it - it was horrible. The crowd got bored of booing by the end.

I still think he looked fine when he got up against Jennings, and the ref was on speed count, but agree with Sham that Jennings looked better, and would've won anyway.

He just got caught by King - it happens with the Heavys.

I would be surprised if Parker gets him out of there in less than 5.
Definitely his best fight yet

That 10 count in the Jennings fight was ridiculous, he was already on 6 when he hit the ground.

RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 06-23-2015

1 more time: Leapai or Tupou as the hardest opponent for Parker. Please answer, as I'm dying to know your opinions.

Still think Tupou was beating Jennings when he got knocked out. Of course, I'm in the minority, as I think Pacman beat Mayweather. Tupou was out cold; how he came back to almost get back up is beyond me.

RE: Joseph Parker - gothenaki - 06-24-2015

Hard question to answer with Leapai coming off 3 very convincing losses and Tupou only having 3 average fights in the last 3 years, but i'll have a guess.

Both were easily outboxed by Malik Scott (in that Mayweather tag and run style), who made them both look slow.

Leapai faded badly against Charr and looked ponderous, but said he took the fight on short notice.
Leapai is only 6ft, so would have thought Parker would be able to score well with his jab.

Tupou is the bigger man, and likes to put pressure on, so may test JP's defence early

Both punch hard enough if JP gets careless

Maybe the recent experience that Leapai has had with good opposition might make him slightly tougher, and he might have a slightly better chin, but I wouldn't rate Tupou much lower.

Bowie Tupou on the Jennings KO
"I remember exactly what happened on my fight night with Jennings.. I was definitely using the time I had down to shake off the uppercut which I copped and to recover quickly.. I did recover and their referee didn't even ask if I was ok, he just stopped the fight on the 9th count.. But yeah whatever.. ‪#‎JustSaying‬" ‪#‎LifeGoesOn"

Thanks gothe. All of us were saying that Parker needed to fight Leapai or Meehan, so I was just wondering about the degree of difficulty between Leapai vs Tupou. Tupou definitely comes forward with aggression, so it'll be good to see how Parker handles it.

Kudos to Duco. Despite all the hype and criticism they've copped, they've come up with a good opponent for Baby Joseph.

Leapai, JP will end Tupou within 3 rounds, JP too fast for Tupou.
