"The IBF used to be in such hot legal water that for four years its operations were supervised by a federal overseer. That started back in August 2000 after a jury in New Jersey convicted founder and president Bob Lee on six of 38 counts of racketeering. He was videotaped taking bribes to fix rankings and sanction fights. The convictions were for tax evasion, money laundering and interstate travel in aid of racketeering.
During the trial, promoter Bob Arum admitted on the stand that he paid $100,000 in bribes to Lee in order to get him to sanction a bout between heavyweight titlist George Foreman and Axel Schulz of Germany. Arum said he was guilty of poor judgment."

TBF Fury didn't just refuse and decide to fight Wlad, there was a rematch clause in the initial contract he signed which the IBF have since stated they knew nothing about which is total bs.

Kathy Duva pushed that button - and the IBF went with it - as per their "rules"
WHy wouldn't they do the same for Joseph?
That makes the IBF a good target.

Apparently the winner of Glazkov-Martin has to fight the Mandatory in 6 months.
If Parker beats Takam, that Mandatory could be Joseph Parker.

Can't really comment on the legal issues with the IBF. Turns into a he said she said. What I heard (he said) is that the IBF never authorised the rematch between Fury and Klit, and instead wanted Fury to fight Martin or Glazkov. Fury refused, and the IBF stripped him two weeks after he won the fight. As Gothe commented earlier, there's a history attached to that decision.
Doesn't matter now. Looks like Team Parker is going hard at the IBF for an eliminator or title shot. Kiwi, 6 months is a very short time. Sources? I hope you're right, because if you are, Parker gets a title fight possibly in July, like you say. Against a very beatable opponent. I'd even make him the favourite.

I believe the new IBF champ has to fight a Mandatory inside 6 months simply because they have been fighting for a "vacant" title.
Makes sense.
This may be why Stu Duncan and Team Parker seem so enthusiastic about the year ahead. They know something.
Expect an announcement after JP's Bergman fight.

Duco Event’s Vacates WBA Titles
ES Boxing - January 5, 2016 - No comments yet
New Zealand’s Promoters Duco Events, announced today that they have officially vacated all of their boxers WBA regional titles. Duco is well known for promoting and managing New Zealand Born Samoan Joseph Parker, Australian Jeff Horn and Poland Born Ghanaian Izuagbe Ugonoh.
Confirmed this morning by Duco’s Matchmacker Stuart Duncan, there was no formal announcement. The reason for vacating the titles was due to the lack of progress in the rankings for all three boxers. “We invested into WBA with six titles total for all the boxers, with a promise by WBA that there would be a progress in the rankings” said Duncan. “Since there was no progress and with Parker decreasing in rankings, we had no choice but to vacate the titles and ending out relationship with WBA”.
Parker held the WBA – PABA & WBA Oceania Heavyweight titles, Horn Held the WBA Pan African, WBA – PABA & Interim WBA Oceania Welterweight titles and Ugonoh held the Interim WBA Oceania Heavyweight Title. With vacating the titles, there is an expectation that Parker and Horns ranking in the WBA will either decrease or even disappear.
Parker is currently Ranked 12th WBA, 3rd WBO, 6th IBF, 10th WBC. Horn is Currently Ranked 12th WBA, 7th WBO, 8th IBF, 29th WBC. Ugonoh is currently ranked 15th in the WBO.

Colonel Bob Sheridan says Parker and Joshua will rule the heavyweight division

Famed boxing broadcaster Colonel Bob Sheridan, who called two of the biggest fights in the history of boxing in “The Rumble in the Jungle” Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman in Zaire and “The Thrilla in Manila” Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier” in the Philippines, talked to Fightnews.com and says the heavyweight division will become attractive again with unbeaten fighters Joseph Parker (17-0, 15 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (15-0, 15 KOs) becoming better known in America.
“Joseph Parker in New Zealand and Anthony Joshua in England can make the heavyweight division attractive again but people in the United States don’t know Joshua except for people inside boxing and they don’t know Parker, but they will in the next year or so and there will be a lot more interest in the heavyweight division when these guys move into high gear. They will rule the heavyweight division.”
IBF #5, WBC #2, WBO #2, WBA #13 Joshua scored KO victories in 2015 over Dillian White who had defeated Joshua in the amateur ranks. He also stopped Gary Cornish, former world heavyweight challenger Kevin Johnon, Raphael Zumbano Love and Jason Gavern inside the distance.
IBF #7, WBO #3, WBA #12, WBC #10 Parker also knocked out all opponents he clashed with in 2015. The list included former world heavyweight title challenger Kali Meehan and world ranked Bowie Tupou, along with Yakup Saglam and Jason Pettway.
Colonel Bob Sheridan has called over 900 world title bouts and will be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2016.
