RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - African Monkey - 03-07-2016 (03-07-2016, 09:14 AM)NakiFan Wrote: If you guys haven't already found this channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/GladrapChannel Thanks mate. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - Boxingfan25 - 03-07-2016 It's a good channel I've been watching it for a while . Interesting video on there of an Interview with Cairo George before his fight against Daniel Ford. Cairo is unbeaten so I went and checked out his record and there is not one decent name on his record. Hopefully he fights someone with a pulse soon so we can see if he's actually any good or not. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 03-07-2016 Looks like Morgan is looking for George, hope it happens. This sport will never grow in NZ until the best fight the best. Fans deserve to see this kind of fight http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/77588253/bowyn-morgan-dominates-onesided-national-title-fight RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 03-07-2016 I've been watching gladwrap since the Invercargil fight and the guy does a bloody good job and his questions are getting better all the time RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - Boxingfan25 - 03-08-2016 I think Bowyn beats Cairo easily. Let's hope the Fight happens RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 03-08-2016 Same but then I though Browne had little show too so want to see the fight to know for sure RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 03-09-2016 Cairo George has broken his hand so will be out for a long period again. Interesting that in the lead up to his last fight he says guys like Morgan would dream to fight him but he wants to go to overseas fighters. Is knocking out the 30th best welter in oz doing anything on the international scene? Obviously with the injury he will come back with another easy fight which is not surprising after a lay off but if his next opponent after that is not a big step up I just don't know where he is heading. I'm just not sure George has done anything to suggest that he is the best welter in the country and I'm not sure he can sail off into the sunset as an international fighter. Should Morgan and George fight to see number 1 is or are they best to avoid each other until some sort of title is on the line or they both suffer a loss on the international scene? Nort Beauchamp is the only name on George's record and he is a lightweight that fights up to get fights and one judge had it even when it was called with two rounds to go because of a cut to George from a head clash. The home crowd and a lead on two cards would have seen Gorge win it on the cards but from memory Beauchamp hurt him in the round before the fight was called. Morgan has not beaten much yet either but he looks to have heaps of potential This is not a dig at Cairo because I like the guy but I do wonder if he and his team are living in dream land. National title fights I would love to see in 2016, some will never happen but they are fights I would like to see. Berridge v Papuni light heavy Morgan v George welter Smokin Joe v Tai super middle Bryant v Betham cruiser Gunnar Jackson v Ivana Siau middle Leki Maka v Taylor super light Uaine Fa Jr v Hemi Ahio heavy RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - NakiFan - 03-09-2016 I like the idea of Fa versus Hemi. I'd pick Fa on this quite comfortably based on his height, reach and superior amateur background. It'll be an explosive fight either way if they want to make it a brawl. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - Boxingfan25 - 03-09-2016 i think he's desperate to keep his unbeaten record and he knows that if he fights Bowyn it's very very likely that his 0 will go. I have nothing against the guy either but I just can't take him seriously when he continually talks himself up in interviews and then goes and fights more bums. Bowyn Morgan is the perfect opponent for him to prove himself against so come on Cairo get your hand fixed then fight Bowyn! RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 03-09-2016 I 100% agree with you but if he's out for 6 months he would have fought once in 18 months so could understand a tune up fight or two first. That said, he could take two fights in three months given the level of fighters he takes on so a fight with Morgan or a decent Ozzie should happen late in 2016 |
