RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - craigyid14 - 08-23-2015 Did anybody watch the Anthony Taylor fight? Sounds a cracker. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 08-24-2015 Sorry guys I stuffed up with the Murphy v Maxwell fight, it's this Friday coming up. I saw something online late last week and knew it was in August so put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5. Might try and find Taylor fight on youtube tonight as it sounds good, tko win in the 12th according to boxrec RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 08-24-2015 http://www.stuff.co.nz/taranaki-daily-news/sport/71368397/batman-does-not-need-robin http://www.stuff.co.nz/taranaki-daily-news/sport/71366403/career-in-limbo-as-rapira-takes-time-to-reflect RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - Daneo - 08-24-2015 Anyone catch Sam Rapira's fight? 2 Judges had it a shutout for Powerdrill.... RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - diehard - 08-24-2015 Split decision. Just spoke to a friend who went. Lots of people, including Langton, thought Sam won. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 08-24-2015 It says that in that article too but I put that down to a local thing. eg the All Blacks never lose, its always the refs fault or suzzie the cock or something other than the All Blacks losing. I haven't seen the fight but someone that was there told me he couldn't believe one judge gave it to Rapira but that's all he said she said stuff really, at the end of the day, rightly or wrongly the result is in the book. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - diehard - 08-24-2015 Can't say, as I didn't see the fight. My friend was saying that Sam had a close guard near his face, and Powrill kept hitting his gloves. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 08-24-2015 As someone wise once said to me: The best thing about boxing is that different judges could be looking for different things, the worst thing about boxing is that different judges could be looking for different things. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - shamrock - 08-24-2015 Good reply justafan, that's why there are three judges RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 08-26-2015 Hemi 'The Heat' Ahio 5 mins · Sorry to disappoint my next opponent isn't SBW. I have agreed to fight a tough, durable fighter. I hear he's been training the house down (this time). He's 3 ½ inches taller than me and has over 150 rounds of professional boxing under his belt - I have 13, lol. We fight in 10 days. Any guesses? I was thinking Clarence Tillman rematch but he's five inches taller and boxed 143 rounds. Would explain the (this time) in the post as Tillman was out of shape when they fought on super 8 undercard and pulled out after a round with a shoulder injury? |
