RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - diehard - 08-20-2015 Guess it's the difference between being an excellent Australasia fighter and being an internationally recognised fighter. I say, first, try to clean up your own backyard, and if you're successful, head overseas. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - VADR - 08-20-2015 Agreed Hemi was far from 100% against Iakopo. He withdrew from an earlier scheduled fight due to his hand playing up and only followed through against Iakopo to meet his obligations and keep busy. He's taller than Mike Tyson so we don't see his height as an issue. Getting more rounds in is our bigger issue. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - shamrock - 08-20-2015 Too true about Mike Tyson, not many have the ability to fight like Mike however. Box his way in, Bob n weave, pin the head back thump to the body while continually bringing the feet up applying pressure. Takes enormous energy levels to maintain that kind of fight with relentless precision like Mike did. Is Hemi a Nz Maori ? He's interesting. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - shamrock - 08-20-2015 Thankyou VADR, of course he is Tongan that's why he is with great coach Lolo RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - Daneo - 08-20-2015 This guy would be an excellent matchup at some point http://boxrec.com/boxer/647723 (Craig Vitale) He had some momentum going at one point but hasn't fought in a long time.... RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - shamrock - 08-20-2015 Looks a good match Daneo. Then journeyman Jnr Pati maybe.. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - craigyid14 - 08-20-2015 Rapira/Powdrill is cracking match up this sat. Gotta say after Powdrill's recent wins he's gotta start favourite. Keep posting! Gotta admit, Hemi looked good on the video clip I saw on TV3. Heavy hands, and moves well. Hemi is 6 feet tall, and as VADR says, a few inches taller than Iron Mike. To me, it's less about height and more about being able to get inside and land. Rapira vs Powdrill is down the road from me in NP. Lot of advertising and press here in the 'naki. Best of luck Sam! BTW, James Langton, the NZ Cruiserweight champ, is on the undercard in a stay busy fight. Would like to see him fight Betham. |
