RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - mippy - 06-06-2015 This is rubbish, it's a critical fight for Robbie in his career and he's not going to get a fair fight. Osthuizen will clearly be much bigger than Berridge. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - gothenaki - 06-06-2015 Berridge too small, couldn't get inside, not busy enough. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - diehard - 06-07-2015 (06-06-2015, 09:15 PM)gothenaki Wrote: Berridge too small, couldn't get inside, not busy enough. Oosthuizen outpoints Berridge; Muller edges Masternak By Ron Jackson In a dull and mauling affair South Africa’s Thomas Oosthuizen outpointed Robert Berridge from New Zealand over 12 rounds at the Emperors Palace on Saturday night. Oosthuizen (80.55kg) came in overweight at the Friday weigh-in and forfeited the title and as a result if Berridge (78.95kg) won the fight he could have claimed the title. The scores were 117-111 twice and 116-112. The fight never rose to any heights with the much shorter Berridge (26-3-1, 21 KOs) spending most the bout chasing and holding Oosthuizen (26-0-2, 14 KOs). RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - mippy - 06-08-2015 Sounds like Berridge might be dropping down a weight class as he's having trouble with the taller guys with long reach. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 06-12-2015 Duco showing some interest in Bowyn Morgan. Looks like a smart move, three fights and see how he goes and he will make an ideal training partner for Jeff Horn whenever possible http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/69318817/duco-pounces-on-bowyn-morgans-potential-with-three-fight-deal-starting-on-saturday RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 06-13-2015 I'm looking forward to this fight. If Opunake's favorite so wins can I jump on the bandwaggon and be in your fan club Die? http://www.stuff.co.nz/taranaki-daily-news/sport/69314204/opunake-set-to-rumble-with-quality-fight-night-card RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - gothenaki - 06-13-2015 Go the Naki! RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - diehard - 06-14-2015 Come on over, justafan. I'll be there. Will be good to see Tua, as he'll be in "Mad Dog's" corner. James has wanted this fight for a long time, and I hope he wins it. He's come down from heavyweight to fight at cruiser. He's already KO'd one of Tua's boxers, Junior Pati. Let's make it two in a row. The fights last year in Opunake sold out! 800 screaming 'Naki guys and dolls. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - Nigs - 06-15-2015 Junior pati is trained out of super city. RE: Professional Boxing in NZ - justafan - 06-15-2015 Poor old Joe Blackbourn hasn't had a lot of credit for his win with Parker obviously taking most of the limelight. Not sure Joe's a world better but can be a very good and entertaining fighter |
