RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - Msreef - 02-10-2017 I think it's really dumb to have it in Manchester. Can't see it happening. RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - Infern0 - 02-10-2017 Theoretically it wouldnt be a bad idea to have it in Manchester, but there would need to be a lot of groundwork layed. Cosy up to eddie hearn and sky, get some uk names on the undercard, have AJ on commentary and put it on sky box office. Big $$$ But i think thatd take a long time to sort out and its probably not an option. RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - diehard - 02-10-2017 Parker has his hands full with Hughie, and he needs every advantage he can get. Messing around with having the fight in Manchester or Singapore is just plain stupid for Duco. So I think that they are doing it to get some Auckland Council money. They keep talking about how expensive it will be. Parker has a much better chance winning in NZ than Manchester. The big fight will be with AJ in London. He'll sell the place out. No need to worry about a Parker profile. RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - Westywarrior - 02-10-2017 Got to agree with all of that Die Hopefully Duco are just foxing RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - Infern0 - 02-10-2017 (02-10-2017, 05:01 PM)diehard Wrote: Parker has his hands full with Hughie, and he needs every advantage he can get. No need to worry about a Parker profile. I was thinking of scoring some quick cash because i still dont think AJ Parker is going to happen for a while. If AJ beats klitschko there is a queue of mandatories already plus they will want to do that haye fight and there is potential of a returning tyson fury and wilder fights. Duco are pinning everything on getting the AJ fight but parker is just an option for AJ RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - mippy - 02-10-2017 AJ vs Parker will only happen if Joe keeps winning for a while. If Parker beats Wilder he might get the fight (which assumes Parker beats Fury). If Parker beats Wilder and Fury, he might even have a chance against Joshua RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - diehard - 02-10-2017 (02-10-2017, 06:47 PM)Infern0 Wrote:(02-10-2017, 05:01 PM)diehard Wrote: Parker has his hands full with Hughie, and he needs every advantage he can get. No need to worry about a Parker profile. I give it the end of this year, beginning of next year, IF they keep winning. I think Wilder will come before AJ for Parker. Wilder gets an additional belt for little effort. He thinks. And he'll be surprised. Wilder would be the favourite, but the odds will be pretty even. Yeah if that fight ever gets made bet the house on Parker, i'm constantly amazed Wilder hasn't been beaten yet RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - U.K. Fight Fan - 02-11-2017 (02-10-2017, 04:53 PM)Infern0 Wrote: Theoretically it wouldnt be a bad idea to have it in Manchester, but there would need to be a lot of groundwork layed. I think you could only make it worthwhile financially in Manchester over New Zealand is if the undercard was good in the UK, but Warren would really have to help stack it. I think you'd need a co-headline from Warren's stable, someone like Terry Flanagan in a meaningful fight to make it that much more lucrative than holding it in New Zealand. If it was just Parker v Hughie as the feature with a basic undercard held in Manchester it would do ok, possibly financially better than in New Zealand because the market is bigger, but not worth the hassle for Parker and Duco. But Hughie-Parker on Sky Box Office? Wouldn't happen as its not box office worthy but more importantly its a Frank Warren promotion, not Matchroom. Also, Eddie's posterboy doing commentary work for a Frank Warren promoted fighter - no chance. I think this fight needs to happen in New Zealand. RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - Msreef - 02-11-2017 Parker vs Fury not box office worthy? It's a far better fight than the rubbish that was AJ vs Breazeale & Molina. Agree that it wouldn't happen on Sky though. |
