RE: Parker vs Hughie Fury - shamrock - 05-10-2017

IMO to be honest fighting a guy like Razvan for a small heavyweight like Parker makes it a mission impossible. Parker was the better man on the night only because of Razvans lack of power. Jo Parker does not have the devastating power of THE TUAMAN to succeed in this playpen. Parker needs a change of his one dimensional coach at the same time as the change of promoters, he has above basic abilities but lacks the X-Factor to carry him forward, he is still a good heavyweight but needs a couple of years with a new regime if he's ever going to cross the line in the battle of big proven warriors IMO. You can technically teach to punch better and harder but realistically a fighter has power or he doesn't.

Reminds me of King Afa vs Joey Wilson, Sham. King Afa had to punch up, and had a hard time getting off. Still, he was ahead on the scorecard before he got KO'd. I was afraid of the same thing with Parker when he started to get frustrated.

Afa dropped his hands and got hit, frustrating because he only had 10 seconds to go to win the fight. Ref stopped it too soon, Afa might have lasted.

King Afa liked to brawl, and dropped his hands a number of times in that fight. I thought it was a good stoppage, but I was gutted for him. From memory, King Afa was floored and was trying to last after getting up. But my point was that King Afa struggled to hit the much bigger Joey Wlson. And King Afa almost had him.

king Afa was a warrior, he doesn't know how to quit..he would fight until night time..

He's the reason Parker doesn't like to brawl no more, tried it once and ended up bleeding like a piglet and just about losing. Still has that nasty scar.

Yes fai, that showed up in that fight. Good or bad you had to love him but once in the fight he was hard to control. .

I know I know but for me that's when Parker looks his best, he won a lot of casual fans with his hell for leather style. But he won a title with his boxing.
Kiwis love mop up kings, hopefully Parker can bring that again next fight
