RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-19-2023 Frazer Clarke opponent named Heavyweight Frazer ‘Big Fraze’ Clarke (6-0, 5 KOs) will face former world title challenger Mariusz ‘The Viking’ Wach (36-9, 19 KOs) at London’s historic York Hall on Friday, June 16th, live on Sky Sports. Clarke was a 2020 Olympics bronze medalist and Wach was a 2004 Olympian. Also on the card, billed as “A Step To Greatness,” are unbeaten super lightweight Adam Azim (8-0, 6 KOs) against Aram Fanyan (22-1, 4 KOs) and female lightweight star Caroline Dubois (6-0, 5 KOs) against Yanina Lescano (13-2, 4 KOs). The event is promoted by BOXXER. Usyk’s promoter K2 bid $8,057,000, far outpacing Dubois’ promoter Queensberry who bid $5,620,050. The target date is August 12 in Wroclaw, Poland. The fight will consolidate the WBA’s heavyweight title as per the WBA’s title reduction plan. RE: Heavyweight Division - Infern0 - 05-27-2023 That purse bid means Usyk's purse is $6 million, it's highly likely Krassuyk will lose money on this fight. Fury got $25 million for Chisora 3 Was Fury's 70/30 demand really so outrageous because based on these numbers it looks like Fury was being quite fair with his offers. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-27-2023 You've done your research. I wonder if Usyk, who holds three of the four belts, doesn't feel right about accepting 30%? I don't know about Fury being "fair", but more about what he could get away with. Money wise, the $6 million is a comedown from what he coulda gotten with Fury. It's unfortunate but reality is that Usyk just doesn't have any commercial value. I wish Dubois will pull out and clear a path for Usyk vs Wilder in the US as that would help Usyk's commercial value as well as be a much more exciting fight. As for Dubois vs Usyk he has virtually no chance, his best approach will be to come out like it's a 3 round fight and just throw everything but the kitchen sink at Usyk, that way he has a small chance of catching him with something before Usyk gets a read on him. If he tries to box his way into the fight he will have literally no chance. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-27-2023 How about this one? Has the makings of a good fight, or a snoozer if AJ plays it safe. https://www.1news.co.nz/2023/05/27/fury-sends-boxing-contract-to-joshua-for-battle-of-britain/ RE: Heavyweight Division - Infern0 - 05-28-2023 (05-27-2023, 04:10 PM)diehard Wrote: How about this one? He has to start going in the ring like every fight is the last one now, because one loss and it's over, there's no point leaving anything in the ring. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-28-2023 AJ used to be a mean machine before he started playing it cautious. Perhaps started in the JP fight? Fury can be hit, and go down. Ask Wilder. And AJ has that punch if he goes for it. This fight, and the possible AJ/Wilder fight, are good fights to have this year. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-29-2023 Justis Huni set for U.S. debut By Ray Wheatley – World of Boxing WBO #14 heavyweight Justis Huni (7-0, 4 KOs) will be in action when he travels to the USA to clash with Andrew Tabiti (20-1, 16 KOs) over ten rounds on the undercard of WBC super lightweight champion Regis Prograis vs. Danielto Zorrillo at the Smoothie King Centre, New Orleans and televised on DAZN. Huni was last in action outpointing Kiki Toa Leutele last November and Tabiti was last seen stopping James Wilson in five rounds last August. |
