RE: Heavyweight Division - bart - 05-05-2022 Fighting the threat that is Lucas Browne I actually don't mind that for Fa as long as he wins comprehensive.. preferably big KO... and as long as he steps up in level soon after. Chisora Hughie Hunter.... RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-06-2022 Bryan-Dubois venue, undercard announced The latest event from “the world’s greatest boxing promoter” Don King includes five title fights headlined by the WBA heavyweight championship pitting defending champion Trevor Bryan (22-0, 15 KOs) going up against the number one contender Daniel DuBois (17-1, 16 KOs) from Greenwich, London. The card is set for June 11th at the Casino Miami Jai-Alai in Miami, Florida, and is billed as “The Fight for Freedom and Peace.” Pay-Per-View details and an announcement on ticket availability will be made soon. In addition to the main event, the NABA Gold heavyweight title fight will feature champion DaCarree Scott (7-0, 6 KOs) of Decatur, GA defending his title against another Georgia slugger in Jonathan Guidry (17-1-2, 5 KOs) from Dulac, GA. Guidry’s lone blemish came at the hands of Bryan. Florida’s NABA cruiserweight champion Johnnie Langston (10-3, 4 Kos) of Sarasota, FL will defend his title against Plantation, Florida’s Isaiah Thompson (6-1-1, 5 KOs). Tre’Sean Wiggins (13-5-3, 7 KOs), of Newburgh, NY will defend his NABA welterweight championship against Florida’s Travis Castellon (17-4-1, 12 KOs). Promoter Don King recently signed super lightweight contender Ryan Martin (24-2, 14 KOs) from Chattanooga, TN. Martin is managed by country music superstar Kane Brown and this will be Martin’s first fight under the leadership of Brown. Martin will take center stage in the fifth title fight of the evening as he goes after the NABA lightweight championship against an opponent to be named. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-06-2022 This guy should have fought Zhiel: Terrell Woods does it again Heavyweight Terrell Woods (28-50-9, 20 KOs) scored an upset third round TKO over previously unbeaten Rolando Soto (8-1, 3 KOs) on Thursday night at the Pasadena Convention Center and Municipal Fairgrounds in Pasadena, Texas. Woods, who is much better than his record indicates, dropped Soto with a big right hand in round two. Soto got up very wobbly and was saved by the bell. The bout was stopped by the ring doctor at the beginning of round three. Time was :10. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-12-2022 Yoka in action Saturday Tony Yoka (11-0, 9 KOs), the undefeated French heavyweight who captured Olympic gold at the 2016 Rio Games, takes a major step up in class this Saturday in a 10-round main event against Congolese contender Martin Bakole (17-1, 13 KOs) at Accor Arena in Paris. Yoka-Bakole will stream live in the United States on ESPN+ at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT. Undercard action: In an eight-round lightweight contest, two-time French Olympian and 2016 Olympic silver medalist Sofiane Oumiha (1-0, 1 KO) will battle fellow unbeaten Mevy Boufoudi (8-0, 3 KOs). At the Tokyo Olympics, Oumiha lost to Keyshawn Davis, the eventual silver medalist and current Top Rank-signed standout. French prospect Christ “Little T” Esabe (11-0, 3 KOs) takes a step up in class versus Venezuelan veteran Sander Diaz (13-8-1, 9 KOs) in an eight-rounder at lightweight. Esabe is the reigning WBC Francophone featherweight champion and a former French featherweight champion. French amateur standout Victor Yoka, younger brother of Tony Yoka, will make his professional debut in a six-round lightweight bout against the durable Gurami Kurtanidze (4-14-5, 1 KO). Wanted to see the Yoka fight but no, SKY wanted to show UFC. Or the Charlo fight would have been nice. Think Pulev had his day in the sun and fighting either for the love of the sport or $$$. Probably both. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-15-2022 Former heavyweight title challenger Kubrat Pulev (23-2, 14 KOs) pounded out a ten round unanimous decision over Jerry Forrest (26-5-2, 20 KOs). The fight was delayed 90 minutes due to a glove problem with Forrest. When the fight finally got underway, Pulev won by scores of 98-92, 99-91, 99-91.
