RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 03-12-2022 (03-11-2022, 11:19 PM)bart Wrote: Haha trevor bryan is a Don King fighter I believe Yes, a Don King fighter. But hey, Bryan IS undefeated. Look out. He won a SD against a journeyman who's never fought outside Louisiana. RE: Heavyweight Division - bart - 03-12-2022 If Don King wants a fighter undefeated.... he will be undefeated RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 03-12-2022 Yeah, but you wait until Dubois gets ahold of him. There goes that undefeated record. Bryan won't last three rounds. And King will retire defeated, as I think this is his last champ. RE: Heavyweight Division - bart - 03-12-2022 Oh yeah DD should demolish him RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 03-18-2022 https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-news/dereck-chisora-to-andy-ruiz-want-to-come-to-london/215457 RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 03-22-2022 Hrgovic: I will break Zhang down and beat him The IBF had to go through their rankings all the way to #13 Zhilei Zhang to find an opponent for #3 Filip Hrgovic to fight in a world heavyweight title final eliminator to name the mandatory challenger for the IBF world title held by Oleksandr Usyk. “I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for more than year,” said Hrgovic. “Finally, I have an opponent willing to face me for the chance to fight for the IBF world title. So many fighters turned down this challenge so credit to Zhang for being brave enough to accept. I know he’s a good opponent. He won silver at the Olympics so that means he’s a good boxer, but he is too slow on his feet and I believe I have the better qualities. My speed, stamina, and footwork will be too much for him. I will break him down and I will beat him. I’m now only one fight away from my dream of boxing for a world title and nothing is going to stop me.” The bout will take place May 7 on the Canelo-Bivol PPV card in Las Vegas. “Canelo is the face of boxing and I’m excited to get this opportunity on such a big show,” added Hrgović. “I’m ready to show the whole world that ‘El Animal’ is coming!” Zhang commented, “I am very happy that this fight is going to happen. I’ve been waiting on an opportunity – now it’s here and I’m not going to let it pass. When no one else from the top 15 wanted to face Hrgovic, I told myself that I had to do it for me, and for the sport of boxing. This is the most important fight of my whole career. I’m all in. Don’t miss it!” RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 03-22-2022 Don King wins the purse bid for Bryan-Dubois Don King Productions won the bidding for the World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight championship bout between Trevor Bryan and Daniel Dubois. The auction took place on Monday via Zoom and the team representing Bryan, with Don King himself present at the purse bid, won the rights to promote the bout with a bid of three million one hundred and sixteen thousand and one dollars (US$3,116,001.00). The winning promoter gave June 18 as the date for the fight, while as possible venues are London, South Florida, and New York. The next bid came from Queensberry Promotions, which offered an amount of two million five hundred and three thousand dollars (US$2,503,000.00) and proposed to hold the fight in Derby, England on May 21 as the first option, Midlands, England on June 11 as the next alternative and another for June 18 in London. Now, Don King Productions will have 20 days to send the contracts signed by both parties. RE: Heavyweight Division - bart - 03-22-2022 Looking forward to Hgyovic v Zhang be good to see where Hgyovic really sits Don King production.... DD better KO him RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 03-22-2022 Me too. Zhang can bang, but his stamina and defense are issues. Hrgovic? You said it, who knows what he'll do against good opposition.
