Lovejoy has weighed in and plans to fight the WBA champion in recess Mahmoud Charr on Saturday night in Germany. “Lovejoy and the German promoter are defying the law,” said King. “We have served them and justice will prevail. We will see who will be “quacking” when we get to court and the legal process decides that everything is there in black and white. “Lovejoy is out there popping off and feels that this fight is for the WBA championship. The WBA hasn’t sanctioned this illegal bout and they certainly won’t do so. Trevor Bryan is the WBA champion. “What fighter shows up in Germany without a trainer or cutman and is totally out of shape, weighing 306 pounds? Lovejoy lacks plain common sense. See you in court along with your German promoter! We’ll see who will be laughing last on Instagram.” King said Lovejoy filed for bankruptcy in California before departing for Germany to try to stop King from taking action on his exclusive promotional agreement in trying to stop Saturday night’s fight. King added that promoter Errol Ceylan is illegally promoting a fight involving a DKP exclusively promoted fighter and knowingly and willingly, tortiously interfering with King’s agreement with Lovejoy. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-16-2021 Charr returns, smashes Lovejoy in two WBA heavyweight champion in recess Mahmoud Charr (32-4, 18 KOs) scored a second round KO over previously unbeaten Christopher Lovejoy (19-1, 19 KOs) on Saturday night at the Sportstudio Baaden in Cologne, Germany. In his first ring appearance since 2017, Charr dropped the 306-pound Lovejoy with a barrage of punches in the second round and Lovejoy was counted out by referee Juergen Langos. Time was 1:09. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-16-2021 Faust, Hammer score early KOs In a clash of unbeaten heavyweights, Viktor Faust (7-0, 6 KOs) destroyed Jacek Piatek (11-1, 9 KOs) in the first round on Saturday night at the Sportstudio Baaden in Cologne, Germany. Faust laid out the 48-year-old Piatek with a right hand. The bout was the co-feature for the clash between Mahmoud Charr and Christopher Lovejoy. Veteran heavyweight Christian Hammer (26-7, 16 KOs) won by third round KO over journeyman Patryk Kowoll (7-25, 6 KOs). Hammer dropped Kowoll twice in round three to end it. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-17-2021 He is back. He beat 300+Lovejoy! Charr: The champ is back! WBA heavyweight champion Mahmoud Charr returned to the ring after a three-and-a-half year break to defeat Christopher Love in two rounds on Saturday in Cologne, Germany. The 36-year-old will now prepare to fight again soon and avoid any further delays between fights. “The pressure was great, but real diamonds are only created under pressure,” proclaimed Charr after the fight. “The champ is back! Team Diamondboy is back. I am happy and grateful that today I was able to reward myself and my team for the hard training over the past three-and-a-half years, for never having stopped believing in myself and fighting for myself.” RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-22-2021 https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-news/deontay-wilder-signs-contract-to-fight-tyson-fury-on-july-24th-in-las-vegas/179123 RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-23-2021 https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-news/wbo-orders-anthony-joshua-vs-oleksandr-usyk/179200 RE: Heavyweight Division - bart - 05-23-2021 interesting fight Will AJ size and power be too much for Usyk? Does Usyk have the skill and boxing IQ to confuse and frustrate AJ? I think after seeing both of Uysks HW fights that while he does have top end skill and IQ in the ring he just doesn't have the weight and power in his punchers to keep an elite big heavy for walking him down. He does well v under the elite level but those massive dudes that are athletic as well Im not convinced. I hope he gets paid very well to fight AJ ... I'm sure he will |
