Deontay Wilder Wants Anthony Joshua Right After "I Beat Ortiz!"
By Keith Idec

NEW YORK – Deontay Wilder wants a win against Luis Ortiz to lead him to his ultimate goal in his following fight.
After a press conference last week in which Wilder promised to knock out Ortiz on November 4 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion said he wants Anthony Joshua next. Ortiz (27-0, 23 KOs, 2 NC), a powerful southpaw from Cuba, is considered the toughest opponent of Wilder’s nine-year pro career.
Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs), who’ll turn 32 on October 22, also is rooting for England’s Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) to beat Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev (25-1, 13 KOs), the mandatory challenger for Joshua’s IBF title, on October 28 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. If they both win, Wider wants their fight to happen earlier in 2018 than it is likely to take place.

There already are rumors regarding Joshua facing New Zealand’s Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs), the WBO champion, sometime in July at Wembley Stadium in London. Joshua-Wilder would be a more attractive alternative.
“When I beat him, I want Joshua,” Wilder said, referring to Ortiz. “Everybody knows that I wanna unify the division. And whoever I’ve gotta beat to finally get that fight made, then let’s do it. If Ortiz is the gatekeeper for unifying, then I can’t wait. But my ultimate goal is to unify. I’m waiting on them. As you can see, I’ve been ready. I’ve been calling all these champions out. I’ve done called these champions out – from Povetkin, Glazkov dodging me and going to Charles Martin. I done called out the Klitschkos, I called out the Furys.
“You know, Klitschko told me I’ve got to fight somebody else. But I’ve got the WBC belt. Why you didn’t wanna come take this? You had all the titles and I had the WBC belt. Why I’ve gotta fight somebody else? If I’m that easy, why people feel like they have to dodge me, if I’m so easy? I don’t understand it. If I’m fighting all bums and I ain’t fought nobody, why these mother*ckers don’t wanna fight me? That should be something people should contemplate in they mind? Why they ain’t fighting if it’s that easy. So with that being said, I wanna unify. So after this fight, when Joshua do what he gotta do with Pulev, and I’m gonna do what I’ve gotta do with Ortiz, I ain’t gotta say no more.”
Bermane Stiverne is Wilder’s mandatory challenger, but Haiti’s Stiverne (25-2-1, 21 KOs) accepted step-aside money to allow Wilder to face Ortiz. Stiverne, whom Wilder beat easily by unanimous decision to win his title in January 2015, will face American contender Dominic Breazeale (18-1, 16 KOs) on the Wilder-Ortiz undercard.

Wilder-Ortiz undercard announced

Former welterweight world champion “Showtime” Shawn Porter will battle Adrian Granados in the featured bout of the undercard for Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Also unbeaten contender Sergey Lipinets will take on Akihiro Kondo for the vacant IBF Junior Welterweight World Championship to open the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader.

And, former heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne and former title challenger Dominic Breazeale will meet in a 10-round heavyweight attraction that will stream live via SHOWTIME Sports.

So it looks like Wilder Ortiz won't be happening and Stiverne will be fighting Wilder instead.

Bellew-Haye grudge rematch set

Arch enemies Tony Bellew and David Haye will meet again on December 17 at the O2 in London. In a major upset, Bellew stopped Haye in March after Haye suffered an Achilles injury midway through the fight.

“I will have the exact same attitude I had going into the first fight – win at all costs,” said Bellew. “I will be victorious on December 17 and I will end David Haye’s career. Another loss to me closes the curtain on the Hayemaker.”

David Haye said, “He somehow won the lottery in our first fight, but believe me, he won’t win the lottery twice…on December 17, I will relish the opportunity to re-write the ending of the Haye Bellew story.”

November 4: The Show will go on – but who will Deontay Wilder fight?

James Slater - October 1, 2017 17 Comments

As soon as the news broke regarding how heavyweight contender Luis Ortiz had tested positive for an illegal substance, fight fans everywhere went into a slump, realising Ortiz’ big fight with WBC ruler Deontay Wilder had surely fallen apart.

And though some reports confirmed the worst, that the clash of unbeaten punchers was indeed cancelled, Lou DiBella, promoter of Wilder, informed RingTV.com that this is not the case – it seems the show will go on at the Barclays Centre in New York next month.

“Not cancelled,” DiBella informed Ring on the subject.

But who will Wilder, 38-0 (37) actually face on November 4? Wilder, via social media, has expressed his anger and his disappointment over Ortiz’ actions (Ortiz and his team claim innocence, insisting the Cuban southpaw merely took medication for high blood pressure and that the fight should still go ahead) – but he has declared his willingness to fight Ortiz regardless of the failed test. But will the fight be allowed now?

There is a good card set for November 4, with former welterweight champ Shawn Porter looking forward to fighting contender Adrian Granados, but it’s all about the heavyweight main event. Wilder seems to feel he WILL be fighting as scheduled, but nobody knows for sure who “The Bronze Bomber’s” dance partner will be.

It is to be hoped Wilder does indeed fight, as he has not seen action since back in February. There have been suggestions Wilder might face a replacement foe in the form of a Bermane Stiverne or maybe even a Dillian Whyte. But Wilder’s willingness to still face Ortiz and make him pay for his actions aside, this particular match-up doesn’t seem at all likely now.

As Wilder says though, it’s in the hand of the WBC right now.

However, Brett Yormark who runs The Barclays Centre, told Ring: “We look forward to seeing Deontay in our building on November 4 defending his title. It will be a great night of boxing.”

Go back a few days and everyone was in agreement that it would; with Wilder heading towards the toughest test of his pro career thus far (on paper at least). Now we can only hope to see a great night of boxing in New York on Nov. 4.

OCTOBER 2, 2017
Deontay Wilder lets loose

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was in a writing kind of mood Sunday night. This is what he had to say on social media (warning, contains some strong language):

I’m going to just put it like this , I’ve called out EVERY TOP FIGHTER that was viewed by many as the best of the division. I’ve always fight who was placed in front of me. Many of the so called best stayed in the light because they knew once they enter into that dark tunnel, I would be on the other end of that bih waiting… Mind “Willing” and Body saying “Ready”. :::::::::::—————->>>>>>

Name another HeavyWeight to date doing what I’m doing!? I’m not only knocking these grown ass men out, but the fashion I’m doing it in a way their body have abnormal movement on the canvas pavement. Many have visited the hospital shortly after meeting me and some have even smelt the scent of Death after dangerously getting their heads busted in.

GO DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST PEOPLE “Lazy Asses” then you will see who’s the best! I actually end careers! Facts are facts! Numbers don’t lie! Like a pastor in church would say, “YOU BETTER BRING YOUR BIBLE AND READ IT AND KNOW IT FOR YOURSELF, BECAUSE I COULD TELL YOU ANYTHING AND YOU BELIEVE ME”.
:::::::::::—————–>>>>>>

Many people are afraid to face the truth of things. Why, because the truth fucking hurts! Many will say everybody else’s name, but yours on being the best, but on the other hand, feel shitty inside because they know what the real reality of it and the reality is DEONTAY WILDER IS THE BEST! On top of that, the MOST FEARED At This Moment In Time!

Face the reality or continuously look dumb explaining why God is using me in a strange, but never seen way. Btw it’s hilarious to watch.
:::::::::::—————>>>>>>

Im not here to change anyone’s mind on me or what I’ve done. To be honest, I really don’t give “$@&!” What you think! I just thought I’d give you a chance to do your homework first then honestly judge. ITS SO CRAZY HOW THE SO CALLED BEST AND CONTENDERS OF THE SPORT HAVE TO GET REPORTED USING P.E.Ds BEFORE FACING ME, BUT THE MOST FUNNIEST OF ALL I GET THE BLAME FOR GROWN ASS MEN MAKING DUMB ASS DECISION JUST TO FACE THIER FEARS!

On the bright side, we have WilderVsJoshua to look forward to, but wouldn’t it be the story of my life if he end up getting pop too?JUst sAyin
