Is that because he doesn't rate in your top 8, or that he is currently inactive? RE: Heavyweight Division - Msreef - 12-05-2016 Inactive. Would be my #1 otherwise. He was definite number 1 RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 12-06-2016 Hughie Fury puts out Tweet saying Wilder wants to fight him, Feb. 25th – “I’m happy, make this fight” James Slater - December 5, 2016 15 Comments A Deontay Wilder-Hughie Fury fight has been spoken of before now, at least as a possibility, and yesterday, in a Tweet by unbeaten Hughie, cousin of course of troubled former world heavyweight king Tyson, an actual date for this would-be fight appeared. 22-year-old Fury, 20-0(10) Tweeted the following: “I’m ready for the big fights. Wilder wants it 25th Feb. I’m happy please make this fight @boxnationtv @MGM_Manchester @HennesseySports.” Wilder is of course coming to the end of his rehabilitation following the arm and biceps injuries he picked up in his summer win over Chris Arreola. Reportedly now punching with both hands again, the reigning and unbeaten WBC heavyweight ruler has said a number of times that he cannot wait to get back in the ring and pick up where he left off. Maybe his return will come against the younger Fury. Wilder must face the winner of the Alexander Povetkin-Bermane Stiverne fight (set for December 17 in Russia) in 2017 and maybe he sees Fury as an ideal tune-up foe. Of course, neither Fury nor his trainer Peter Fury see themselves as taking what is an unwinnable fight against Wilder – if the money on offer is reasonable it’s very likely Team-Fury will take this fight and what’s more, truly believe they can win it. And just maybe Wilder does indeed get the shock of his pro career if he does fight the slick, talented and underrated Fury next. If it’s not Wilder next, Fury says, in another Tweet, that he would like to fight the winner of this Saturday’s Andy Ruiz-Joseph Parker clash for the vacant WBO belt. Hughie, it seems, is ready, willing and able to take that big step up in class. Not having fought since April, Fury is understandably anxious to make up for lost time; even if at age 22 he has plenty of time on his side. RE: Heavyweight Division - gothenaki - 12-06-2016 (12-05-2016, 12:53 PM)Msreef Wrote: 1. Klitschko I kind of get the rankings, but.... Ortiz was WAY more impressive in dispatching Jennings than Klit, who seems to have lost some heart. Ortiz has so many ways to win. I was super impressed when he started dancing against Jennings. Malik Scott is a douche, so no need to comment on that fight. Povetkin is brave and skilled, but too small, as is Haye (too small, not necessarily brave). Interested to see how the small, fast Ruiz goes this weekend. Wilder, Joshua, Klit (who has done it before) and T.Fury would bully the smaller Povetkin and Haye. Wilder showed great discipline in bashing Stiverne. Joshua looks like a beast. Even Ortiz, JP and Pulev have a reach advantage over them which is important when you also have power (maybe not Pulev) I think Hughie could give Pov and Haye a good run, but he's only 22.. 1 (emeritus) T.Fury 1. Ortiz 2. Joshua 3. Klit 4. Wilder 5. Parker 6=. Pulev 6=. Povetkin 8. Haye RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 12-06-2016 Povetkin beats Wilder if he can get past Stiverne. A talented boxer against a wild one. RE: Heavyweight Division - bopman - 12-06-2016 I think wilder beats povetkin. Povetkin struggled against wlad and if wilder can use the same game plan he use with stiverne I think he will come out on top. |
