The Fury-Klitschko rematch has been worked on for some weeks now, but the date now being talked of is June 4th and the favorite to play host to the fascinating rematch is Austria – the country Klitschko has often used for his training base. According to an article in The Mirror, Klagenfurt’s 32,000 capacity Woerthersee stadium is now the front-runner to host the fight. “Yes, that’s right. We are in negotiations, but for confidential reasons, we can’t give out any more information at this stage,” Nicola Pattberg of the Klitschko Management Group said. We don’t know the specifics of why the rematch is being worked on under such apparent secrecy, but once the big fight arrives, finally, no-one will care too much about the ins and outs that went into making the bout. All that matters is what happens between those four corners when the bell rings, and it looks as though the first bell will ring on June 4th. At 32,000 capacity, it seems likely the Austrian arena, which has hosted big football matches recently, will wind up being sold out. The big attraction to this fight is fans wondering if Fury can repeat his November 2015 win, or if Klitschko merely had a bad night four months ago and can put it right at the second time of asking. There is still no word on TV coverage of the fight but hopefully fans everywhere will get the chance to tune into the action. And speaking of action, fans are hoping there will be more in the second fight than there was in the first. Those fans who plan to attend the fight live and in person will most likely have to travel to Austria. Fury had been hoping the fight would go ahead at either Wembley or in Manchester, but once again it looks like Fury will have to get his passport out. Interesting tweet from Peter Fury in relation to the Austria and date story RE: Heavyweight Division - tm7 - 03-16-2016 Apparently David Haye fighting Michael Wallisch on May 21 - http://boxrec.com/boxer/531663 RE: Heavyweight Division - NakiFan - 03-16-2016 That'll be another quick fight... RE: Heavyweight Division - mippy - 03-16-2016 getting his practice fights in while he waits for his Joshua payday RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 03-16-2016 Tyson Fury posts his wish-list: wants Klitschko rematch, then Martin-Joshua winner, then Wilder-Povetkin winner James Slater - March 15, 2016 - 32 comments If heavyweight champion Tyson Fury gets his way, the heavyweight division will see some huge and potentially thrilling match-ups take place in the coming months. Fury must first defeat former champ Wladimir Klitschko – in a return fight that has dragged on and on in terms of being officially announced; maybe the two fighters will clash in a secret location on a secret date! – but after that he wants more big names. Never one to stray too far from Twitter, the undefeated Fury posted his wish-list of opponents earlier today, writing: “My next fights, 1, Wlad, 2, winner of Joshua/Martin, 3, winner of wilder/povetkin.” If just two of these fights get made, fight fans will be happy. Another person who will be happy if a Fury-Anthony Joshua fight gets made is promoter Eddie Hearn. Hearn replied to Fury’s Tweet with one of his own: “It’s a monster fight – of course!” wrote the Matchroom boss. Fury shot back with: “That’s the biggest British fight ever right there, but he must pass Martin first.” Hearn believes his fighter will be able to defeat Charles Martin on April 9th, but he has said in the recent past how he sees the upcoming fight as a 50-50 fight. If Martin, in making the first defence of his IBF belt, does manage to cause the upset, he will also be upsetting a lot of planned fights. Of course, Martin won’t care two hoots about that, searching as he is for the mega-fights himself. A Fury-Wilder fight would also be a monster, either in the UK or, as is probably more likely as Wilder is doing his share of travelling for the Povetkin fight, in the US. Fury-Povetkin would also prove interesting, but due to the words the two have been exchanging for some time now, a Fury-Wilder collision would have that extra zing. That fight has the look of a genuine grudge-match. Now, can Fury do as he and his promoter, Mick Hennessey feel will be the case and win that return fight with Klitschko?
