I believe they've done some promotional stuff with the owner of the MGM. Would be a great venue. But I do think it'll be in NZ, with the taxpayer fund stumping for the money.

Vegas would be a good option for Joe, he needs to fight away from home some day, might as well be vs Ruiz who he's favoired to beat than against Joshua/Haye/Klit who he will need to travel for

If it is in Vegas hopefully Duco can get some of their fighters on the card

True mippy, spot on. It must go to Vegas, they need get out of the comfort zone

Parker has fought several times outside of NZ and Samoa. Believe the Brazilian guy was not in NZ. Nemecinto or something like that. Several others. But I know what you're saying, that was early in his career, and it's been awhile. If he's gonna go to the UK, he does need to fight elsewhere. Vegas would be a good intermediary step for him.

Delusional.

This is not an MGM grand fight and if it lands in Vegas ruiz will have the crowd support by far

I'm just trying to keep it real, I know nobody on here is intentionally trolling but we have good unbiased conversation here normally but just lately I think people are losing it a bit.

It's a title fight, whatever way you look at it. And considering that Parker and Barry are very chummy with the MGM CEO and his son. It is a possibility.

Delusional is having unrealistic beliefs or opinions. The facts above, support my opinion as a possibility, which is far from delusional.

The joseph parker hype going nuclear

Now he's going to be a hero to all the Americans at the MGM grand against a Latino fighter

This sort of talk is just nonsensical.

Where's the style analysis and serious discussion of this fight, cos I haven't seen any.

Serious Analysis free from any hype, and fanboynism

Andy Ruiz is planning on coming into this fight lighter and fitter than any of his previous 29 fights. It's not surprising he is focused, it's a world title shot. But will this lighter frame suit the style he has been so accustomed to over his pro career? That style is the high guard, pressure fighting, moving forward fighter. If he plans on still doing that gameplan, he will be walking forward into a larger, heavier man.

This could play into Parkers hands, but Ruiz has also seen how Takam's pressure style saw Parker look average at times during that fight.
If Ruiz adopts this style, he will need to get past JPs jab, or double jab, or triple jab. Parker on the other hand needs to control the distance, and not forget the importance of his own skillset, that being a fast jab, and left hook-jab. If Ruiz can get in close, Parker will need to look out for Ruiz's weapons, most notably the overhand right. But will the lighter frame of Ruiz be able to generate the power that people speak about? The last number of fights he has fought went the distance....so is this power just a few highlight reels on Youtube of journeymen going down? The night will be interesting, because as soon as a potential showdown with Ruiz was on the cards, the Duco team was quick to talk up the power of Ruiz. Is this just selling the danger, but the guys are very confident regardless, as this is just marketing?

As a supporter of JP, I believe if he fights smart on the outside, controlling the distance, and getting himself quickly out of any rope pressure, he should dominate the fight. Ruiz hasn't been dropped apparently during his career, so ontop of potentially winning a strap, Parker also could have the opportunity to gain more fans if he could do a KO in a spectacular way. It looks like the fight could be US based, and US fans like big hitting, KO power. So there is no better opportunity as of now, to grow a new fanbase out of his native NZ.

I see the first couple of round being tight, with Parker wary, and Ruiz coming in to pressure JP. Once an opening presents itself, JP will need to snipe in and lay down some hurt. This will put doubt in Ruizs head, and once he starts standing a bit straighter, holding his position or moving away from Parkers advances, it will just be a matter of time.

Parker KO, 6th.
