Ruiz looks tiny. Cruiserweight who likes food...

That is an old story, Die.

Pretty hypocritical of Phil Goff to get on stage at Parker's last fight, then cancel funding last-minute for this one.

Bad start for the new mayor. "Flip-flopping" already, it seems.

True, Kiwi. My mistake. I've deleted it. Thanks for catching it.

Wow look at little fatty ruiz

How they gonna sell this mismatch.

I take it all back parker is going to KO hin

RE: Parker vs Ruiz for WBO - diehard - 11-07-2016

Infern0, from the pic I posted, Ruiz looks in good shape a month out. Still, this should be an easy KO for Parker unless Ruiz fights the fight of his life, coming forward and throwing bombs while Parker makes amateur defensive mistakes like he did with Takam and Haumono. Barring that, easy victory.

Venue announcement imminent for Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz WBO heavyweight title fight

Joseph Parker continues to train for his WBO heavyweight title fight against Andy Ruiz, hopeful the deal can be done for the fight to be in Auckland.

Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz have crossed paths in Las Vegas while they wait to see where they will fight for the WBO heavyweight title.

The host city and venue for the pair's bout is set to be confirmed on Tuesday, promoter Duco Events said in announcing an 11.30am press conference in Auckland.

The two fighters watched Manny Pacquiao beat Jessie Vargas to win the WBO welterweight title on Sunday (NZ time).

They were pictured together outside the fight venue.

Andy Ruiz of Mexico poses reacts after his knockout of Jonte Willis during a heavyweight fight at The Home Depot Center on July 7, 2012 in Carson, California.

What was noticeable was the height advantage Parker will have and also that Mexican Ruiz, noted for his weight struggles, looks to be in pretty decent nick as he took a break from an intense training camp at altitude in Big Bear, California.

On Monday there was still no word from Parker's promoters as to whether they have secured the finances to host the title fight in Auckland on December 10.

They had the deal all but locked down when Auckland council's promotional arm Ateed dealt them a a major body blow late last Thursday, withdrawing significant funding.

Duco bosses Dean Lonergan and David Higgins have been looking at ways to make up the shortfall, desperate to have Parker fight at home and maximise his chances of securing one of the four major heavyweight belts that would set up more lucrative defences and unification bouts.

Parker and Ruiz were meant to front a press conference in Las Vegas on Sunday ahead of the Pacquiao fight to announce details of their own title clash.

But that was cancelled, and with it a chance to talk up the fight in front of some of the most influential boxing media in the world.

Ruiz is promoted by American Bob Arum who also looks after Pacquiao.

Arum is ready to take over staging the Parker-Ruiz fight in the United States if Duco can't stich together the deal. That would mean a likely shift to a January date.

Parker and his trainer Kevin Barry continue to work on the fight plan at their camp in Las Vegas with an eye to fighting on December 10.

So Ruiz after all his training and weight reduction might be hungry and take a chomp of ear from Parker?
